Precision Academic Tutoring was founded by Michael Hirsch, an enthusiastic educator who believes in the power of inspirational instruction.

 

Born in Boston, Massachusetts and a product of the Newton Public School system, Michael graduated with Honors from Stanford University in 2006 double-majoring in Creative Writing and History. As a junior, he was selected by Oxford faculty to participate in Stanford's prestigious Overseas Studies Program at Oxford University, where he learned the craft of writing from some of Oxford's finest instructors.  

 

After completing his studies at Stanford and Oxford, Michael spent five years working as an educator at Lydian Academy, a private high school in Menlo Park, California renowned for its innovative approach to 1-on-1 instruction. Michael’s responsibilities included teaching AP English and AP History courses, directing Lydian’s after-school tutoring program and developing Lydian’s college counseling services.

 

In 2012, Michael created Precision Academic Tutoring to offer tailored educational services to students across the world. Since founding Precision Academic Tutoring, Michael has customized academic plans for hundreds of students and helped them accomplish their scholastic goals.

In addition to his work as an educational consultant, Michael is also a music educator and nationally recognized musician. He has been a guest lecturer at Stanford's Continuing Studies in Jazz program, as well as a Faculty member of the Stanford Jazz Workshop. Michael has traveled across North America and Europe with several different musical projects and has had the privilege of performing at some of the finest venues in the world, including Lincoln Center, the San Francisco Jazz Center, and the Fillmore.
