Our founder
Precision Academic Tutoring was founded by Michael Hirsch, an educator who believes in the power of inspired teaching.
Born and raised in Newton, Massachusetts, Michael graduated with Honors from Stanford University in 2006, double-majoring in Creative Writing and History. As a junior, he was selected for Stanford's Overseas Studies Program at Oxford University, studying writing under some of its finest instructors.
After spending five years as a college counselor and AP Humanities teacher at Lydian Academy in Menlo Park, CA, Michael founded Precision Academic Tutoring and has since customized successful academic plans for hundreds of students worldwide.
Michael is also an internationally recognized jazz musician and educator. He has taught at Stanford Jazz Workshop and performed at notable venues including Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Blue Note, and SFJAZZ Center.
